About Us News Our Vision Products Contact Us

Sun Break Biofuels, LLC is a small-scale biodiesel company dedicated to providing the Willamette Valley with clean and sustainable fuels.

We will be providing Oregon farmers with the infrastructure needed to bring locally grown oil crops to market as biofuels.

Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel that is made from fats and oils. Biodiesel is a clean burning, safe, and domestically produced fuel that can be used directly in unaltered diesel engines. Biodiesel fuel has been fully tested and approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an alternative fuel and is used by thousands of private and public fleets around the country.

Sun Break Biodiesel is currently made primarily from waste restaurant grease that is recycled to produce an ultra-low emission, non-toxic fuel.

Biodiesel use reduces tail-pipe emissions about 75% overall. This means that it is healthier for humans and the planet!

We had our Grand Opening in August 2006 and promoted the event by selling fuel during the month at cost. We had great success and were able to introduce biodiesel to over 90 people who had never tried it before. In total we sold over 3500 gallons of biodiesel during the promotion.

For those who haven't heard, on 06/23/2006 we had a fire on our property which destroyed the building and processing equipment before we could have our grand opening in July. The fire was caused by an electrical short in some of the old wiring in our office. Fortunately the storage and processing of biodiesel was not a factor in starting the fire.
